As Q1 comes to a close, we're looking back to all As Q1 comes to a close, we're looking back to all the amazing projects we got a chance to collaborate on. We're so grateful to continue working with organizations engaged in critical work as we gain more clarity on our purpose and mission - Design for Social Change.

Here are some of the highlights of this quarter:
We collaborated with @changeconsulting to create a new visual identity and design/develop a new website for MISSSEY - an organization working to prevent girls and gender-expansive youth from entering circumstances of sexual exploitation and violence. We are honored to support the work of this organization as they bring this crisis to light and focus on the root casuses of sexual exploitation - racism, sexism and capitalism. @misssey

Continuing our partnership with @exposurelabs, we worked on their end of year report. Exposure Labs is a film production and impact studio using stories to address big societal challenges, and to inspire hope and action for collective solutions. This project is one of our all time favorites, we got a chance to run 'wild' with creative direction. 🙂🌿🌵🍂

Another highlight is the design of a report developed by Solutions not Punishment Collaborative (SNaP Co) based in Atlanta, GA. The report, Deeper Than Visibility, imagines a new, safer Atlanta by eradicating harmful systems that victimize the Black and TLGBQ+ community. It explores all the ways why awareness building and advocacy has to evolve into action and real change. We are honored to be part of this big collaborative effort, shoutout to @sofahood for the beautiful illustrations! @snap4freedom

Another BIG shout out to the team, to the incredible humans! 👏🏾😎🔥@wessanne @habtish_e2 @estherfrasercomms

At YolkWorks, we value clients who are keen on for At YolkWorks, we value clients who are keen on forming long term partnerships with us. And when that client is impact-driven, doing critical work to bring change in their mission space, the partnership becomes even more special. One such client is @exposurelabs!
We have been collaborating with the team at Exposure Labs since 2020, and it has been nothing but rewarding. We recently completed designing their annual report and we are very happy with the results. It was our absolute pleasure working with the team! A big shout out to Caroline Condren! Thank you for your grace, flexibility, creativity and so much more! THANK YOU!

We were tasked with creating an end of year report for Exposure Labs Climate Program. We developed original illustrations to supplement the layout design. It was a lot of fun creating this report and it was an absolute pleasure collaborating with the team. And we think they feel the same way about us 😀.

Working in the stillness of the night, turning watercolor practices to IG visuals, marvelling at the brilliance of Murakami's writing, ....filled with gratitude!

“Sometimes fate is like a small sandstorm that keeps changing directions. You change direction but the sandstorm chases you. You turn again, but the storm adjusts. Over and over you play this out, like some ominous dance with death just before dawn. Why? Because this storm isn't something that blew in from far away, something that has nothing to do with you. This storm is you. Something inside of you. So all you can do is give in to it, step right inside the storm, closing your eyes and plugging up your ears so the sand doesn't get in, and walk through it, step by step. There's no sun there, no moon, no direction, no sense of time. Just fine white sand swirling up into the sky like pulverized bones. That's the kind of sandstorm you need to imagine.
And you really will have to make it through that violent, metaphysical, symbolic storm. No matter how metaphysical or symbolic it might be, make no mistake about it: it will cut through flesh like a thousand razor blades. People will bleed there, and you will bleed too. Hot, red blood. You'll catch that blood in your hands, your own blood and the blood of others.
And once the storm is over you won't remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. You won't even be sure, in fact, whether the storm is really over. But one thing is certain. When you come out of the storm you won't be the same person who walked in. That's what this storm's all about.” ― Haruki Murakami, Kafka on the Shore
