The Hive Fund, Triennial Report 2022

The Hive Fund for Climate and Gender Justice raises funds and makes grants to organizations that are building power to address intersecting climate, gender, and racial justice crises in the United States and have historically lacked access to funding. Continuing our partnership, we designed their Triennial Report that portrayed their grantmaking impact in the US South, where both pollution levels and emerging clean energy opportunities are high, yet philanthropic funding levels are low.

MISSSEY, Visual Branding and Website Design

We partnered with Change Consulting on a rebranding and website redesign project for MISSSEY. YolkWorks developed the visual branding, a new logo and designed a new website. MISSSEY works to prevent girls and gender-expansive youth from ever entering circumstances of sexual exploitation and violence. They also support young people who are experiencing exploitation to exit.
The logo: To symbolize MISSSEY’s role within the community of Oakland, the enduring symbol of an oak tree—including roots and branches—represent networks, community, nurturing, and growth. Just as the roots and branches expand beyond the emblem’s circular frame, MISSSEY’s impact will last beyond any single individual or point in time. On the right is a young Black Femme, the focal point of MISSSEY’s work. She is deeply integrated within the tree because our work is not just for her and about her; as a survivor-led organization, our work IS that young Black Femme.

We worked with Rising Tide Capital in the completion of their new headquarters at 311 MLK Drive in Jersey City. The project was a success because it has a community of supporters! One of them being the NJ Redevelopment Authority. YolkWorks was nominated and received an award for "outstanding commitment and hard work in the completion of 311 MLK" at the Governor’s NJ Housing Conference in September 2022. We are very grateful for Rising Tide Capital!
